Important

  • Dates & Venue of Tournaments may be changed due to unforeseen circumstances. Changes, if any, will be published well in time.
  • The Championship Committee reserves the right to add or cancel tournaments at its discretion.
  • Players are advised to confirm the dates and important information pertaining to various Events in the IGU website appearing under link “Latest News” and “Golf Calendars. All changes will be notified through link “Latest News” and “Golf Calendars” only in the website www.indiangolfunion.org.
  • IGU Hard Card will apply for all IGU Events.

Categorization And Handicap Criteria

  • Categorised Events given in the Golf Calendar are open to Ladies & Junior Girls (Cat Ladies, A, B & C) Amateur golfers with age categorization and IGU-NHS handicap as mentioned below. As proof of age, Birth Certificate issued by Municipal Authority or by a recognised school must be submitted with the Tournament Director and with the IGU Secretariat for records and for participation:-

  • There are 10 tournaments on the Ladies & Junior Girls Tour. Any best 8 performances will be considered for the Order of Merit List. There will be no Mandatory Tournaments. Additional weight age has been given to the All India Juniors. There shall be no additional points for Billoo Sethi. Point distribution is given below:-

  • Points for Ties (except in the case of 1st position in the Winner of the Ladies Championship, Junior Championship Winner (Cat A), Winner of Cat B & C Girls which will be decided by a Sudden Death Play Off) for all other positions, will be shared equally by combining the points for the positions involved. Fractions will be rounded off to the next round figure. e.g. 0.1 will be treated as 1.

Note: Points for all events held in 2023 shall be carried forward to 2024. Event that becomes more than 365 days old and is not being repeated this season will be taken off the OOM. Events may not get replaced exactly after one year. This can happen any time during the Golf Calendar year. Event (s) being repeated in 2024 will replace 2023 event.

  • In case two or more players are having the same aggregate points in the Order of Merit then to decide the Overall Ranking, maximum no. of wins will be taken into account. If there still remains a tie then the better stroke average of the most recent 3 tournaments, in which all the players tied have participated, will be taken.
  • Merit List Points as mentioned above in point 2 will be awarded to all players irrespective of Category and no. of players that have participated. Merit List will be prepared separately for Ladies and Juniors Girls (Cat A, B and C). Category B Girls will be eligible for points in the Category A.

From the year 2024, the format for the All India Ladies and Junior Girls Championship shall be a four day stroke play event.

Conditions of Play:

  • All Tournaments are open to Ladies & Junior Girls (Cat A, B & C) with Age & IGU-WHS Handicap Index criteria given under Para Ser. 1. Handicap Certificates from coaches or clubs will not be accepted. All players need to submit their WHS handicaps at registration. Players can register for WHS handicap on our website whs.indiangolfunion.org.
  • There will be a Practice Round for the Ladies and Junior Girls (Cat A, B& C) on Monday or one day prior to the tournament. All players are required to register on the day of the Practice Round at the venue with the Tournament Director latest by 1100 hrs (11 am).
  • For the All India Ladies & Girls Championship, only players reflecting in the IGU Order of Merit for Ladies and Junior Girls as on date of registration of the event shall be eligible to participate in the championship. Six (06) IGU Spots and Six (06) Club spots shall be additionally given for the championship.
  • The Tournament shall be conducted in Stroke Play format in accordance with the R&A – USGA Rules and Local Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A – USGA and shall consist of following rounds:-

  • The Tournament Director reserves the right to curtail the no. of rounds due to any adverse situation / playing conditions.

Entries and Registrations:

  • Online Entries are mandatory for all Tournaments and will close 07 days prior to start of the Tournament. All players must register themselves one day prior to the tournament latest by 1100 hrs (11 am) at the host venue. Players not registering in time shall NOT be included in the draw.

Participation entry fees

  • The participation charges for all events will be 3000/- per event.

Draws and Halfway cut

  • The Draw shall be made at the discretion of the Tournament Director which may have Ladies & Juniors of different categories playing in the same group.

  • There would be a preliminary cut (by score) after Round 1. Following cut-off scores will apply for each Category. Players not meeting the following criteria will not be allowed to play their next round(s). There shall be NO SCORE CUT applied on Day 1 of the All India Ladies and Junior Girls Amateur Championship. For All other events, the first day score cut shall be applied as mentioned below:-

  • Players in Category Ladies, A and B who have played a score of 100 and above and in Cat C of 110 and above in Round 1 shall not be allowed to play the next calendar event regardless of the player entry eligibility criteria into the event.
  • Round 2 & Final Round draw shall be made at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
  • After 36 Holes, 20 players plus ties for Ladies / 20 plus ties for Category A and B Girls respectively and 20 Plus ties for Category C Girls will be eligible to play the final round in each category. It is emphasised that the cut will not be applied on the entire field basis and will be applicable in each category separately. The half way cut shall also be applicable for the 2024 All India Ladies & Junior Girls Championship.

Ties

  • In the event of a tie for the 1st Place for the Championship Winner, Junior Championship Winner (Cat A) and Winner of Cat B and Cat C, there will be a “Sudden Death” Play off, hole by hole, immediately after completion of the Final Round. All Ties shall be broken as per the IGU Hard Card

Tournament Committee:

  • The Tournament Committee consisting of club representative(s) and IGU Official(s) will be formed by the Tournament Director. The Tournament Committee will have the sole discretion to alter the conditions for the competition and to give decisions on any query / ruling / disputes arising during the Tournament.

  • Any matter not covered under the conditions of play will be decided by the Committee and their decision shall be final and binding on all the participants. The Tournament Director reserves the right to fix / alter starting times. In the event of any Round(s) being cancelled due to inclement weather or for any other reason, the Tournament Director shall assess the situation and take a decision which shall be binding on all the participants.

Use of Caddies

  • Categories A & B Junior Girls and Ladies shall not be allowed caddies for the four zonal tournaments (Northern India, Southern India, Eastern India and Western India) subject to it being weather conducive. Caddies shall be permitted for all other events including the All India Ladies & Junior Girls Championship. Category C Girls shall be allowed caddies for all events. Caddies may be permitted by the Tournament Director at his discretion considering the topography of the golf course and adverse weather conditions.
  • Playing/Teaching Professional / Blood Relation Relatives and existing IGU Tour players are NOT allowed to Caddy for a Player during the tournament.

Tournament Playing Tees

  • Under normal circumstances following Tees will be used:-

Ladies & Junior Girls (Cat A & B)           Men’s Regular Tees (Approx 6200 yards)

  • Tournament Director is empowered to use his/her discretion to decide the Tees in case of adverse / favourable playing conditions.

Dress Code

  • It is the duty of the player to find out the Dress Code of the host club and respect the same. Failure to follow the Dress Code of the host club may result in the Junior not being allowed to play. In addition to the dress code of the host club following dress code must be adhered to:-

Drug Abuse

  • Competitor shall not knowingly make use of any drug to enhance his / her performance. Please refer to the IGU Hard Card.

Use of Mobiles and Electronic Gadgets

Spectators/Gallery

  • Gallery is permitted and host club rules shall apply on the same. Gallery is NOT permitted to have any kind of interaction with the player during the course of play. Gallery must at all times keep a distance of min 50 yards from the players on the Golf Course during Tournament Rounds. Use of mobiles is not permitted for spectators on the Golf Course. Please note, if the host clubs does not permit gallery during the championship, the host club rules shall apply Breach of this rule shall invite penalty from the Tournament committee

Prizes

  • The Prize Distribution shall take place within 30 minutes after the last group has submitted the cards on the final day.
  • Prizes – The following Prizes will be awarded: –
Ladies Championship -Winner and Runners Up
Junior Championship -Winner and Runners Up
Girls Cat B -Winner and Runners Up
Girls Cat C -Winner and Runners Up

Playing In Higher Category (Junior Girls C)

  • Any player(s) from Category C who wishes to participate in a higher Category of B (or C if applicable whilst playing the Sub Junior & Feeder Tour and transiting to the main Tour) can do so by applying in writing to the Indian Golf Union prior to the event, provided he/she meets the handicap criteria of the higher category.
  • If the player wishes to revert to the original category, then, he/she is required to apply in writing, to the Indian Golf Union and at the discretion of the Championship Committee, will be allowed to revert, from the third event there after (irrespective of the calendar year) provided he/she still meets the age and handicap criteria for that Category.

*This is also applicable for Players shifting Categories from the Sub Junior and Feeder Tour and participating in the Categories in the main Tour.

USE OF DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES (DMDs):

  • Use of Distance Measuring Devices (DMDs) is permitted in IGU Tour Events.
